Live & Let Live

Ask me anything   Submit   “The mind I love must have wild places, a tangled orchard where dark damsons drop in the
heavy grass, an overgrown little wood, the chance of a snake or two, a pool that nobody's
fathomed the depth of, and paths threaded with flowers planted by the mind.” -Katherine Mansfield

There is no common theme to my blog. Here you'll simply find the art, literature, fashion, film,
people, philosophical thought and music that I like, and whatever else I find stimulating at the time.

alitheperson asked: ;) mm ripe bananananas

Were you in my anthropology lecture today? Because that is strangely relevant. My lecturer talked about selling bananas and Carmen Miranda. He also played stripper music and “seductively” pealed open a banana to get his point across. It was gross.

"Life is a question of nerves, and fibres, and slowly built-up cells in which thought hides itself and passion has its dreams. You may fancy yourself safe and think yourself strong. But a chance tone of colour in a room or a morning sky, a particular perfume that you had once loved and that brings subtle memories with it, a line from a forgotten poem that you had come across again, a cadence from a piece of music that you had ceased to play… I tell you, that it is on things like these that our lives depend."

"You’re not a kid anymore. You have the right to choose your own life. You can start again. If you want a cat, all you have to do is choose a life in which you can have a cat. It’s simple. It’s your right."
